Orca Recovery Day 2022

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, people from all around Puget Sound and its watersheds and fisheries will join together in celebration of Orca Recovery Day through volunteering and salmon recovery efforts. This year due to the wildfire smoke and air quality the Orca Recovery Day events have been rescheduled to Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Orca Conservancy will is proudly participating in two events with our partners, and we invite you to come to join us!
See event details below and sign up to help restore critical salmon habitat.

10am - 1Pm | Former Wayne Golf Course

10am - 3Pm | Riverview Park

Orca Recovery Day, Bothell, WA

Join Orca Conservancy, Whale Scout, and partners in planting a riparian forest along the Sammamish River! Salmon are critical prey for Southern Resident killer whales, and by planting trees and shrubs along vital watersheds we are helping to create healthy riparian forests which salmon need for survival. Healthy riparian forests control erosion of river banks, shade waters keeping them cool for young salmon, and host insects that salmon need early in life for prey.

In addition to boots-in-the-ground restoration, this event is for the entire family and will also have educational booths, activities, snacks, and an appearance from Mike, the life-sized inflatable orca.
